R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of League City resident Oliver Jenkins, who passed away on February |
|
7, 2007, only 10 days short of his 100th birthday; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Morris and Cornelius A. Jenkins, Oliver |
|
Jenkins was a native Texan who was born in the town of Trinity; as an |
|
adult, he moved to live with his brother, Felix, and his family in |
|
Seabrook, where he met his future wife, Eloise Langram; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jenkins was a longtime employee of Ten Smelter |
|
in Texas City, and he continued to work for a number of families in |
|
El Lago after his retirement; in addition, he was a valued |
|
congregant of Mt. Olive Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Jenkins played a positive |
|
role in the lives of numerous individuals, and he will be deeply |
|
missed by all who were fortunate to have known him; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Oliver Jenkins and |
|
extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Oliver |
|
Jenkins. |
