R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of League City resident Oliver Jenkins, who passed away on February
  7, 2007, only 10 days short of his 100th birthday; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Morris and Cornelius A. Jenkins, Oliver
  Jenkins was a native Texan who was born in the town of Trinity; as an
  adult, he moved to live with his brother, Felix, and his family in
  Seabrook, where he met his future wife, Eloise Langram; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jenkins was a longtime employee of Ten Smelter
  in Texas City, and he continued to work for a number of families in
  El Lago after his retirement; in addition, he was a valued
  congregant of Mt. Olive Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Jenkins played a positive
  role in the lives of numerous individuals, and he will be deeply
  missed by all who were fortunate to have known him; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Oliver Jenkins and
  extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Oliver
  Jenkins.
