R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Zachary Zbranek of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. |
|
|
245 in Winnie has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
|
criteria, Mr. Zbranek earned 52 merit badges, more than twice the |
|
|
requisite 21, and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of |
|
|
benefit to his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Zeb and Angela Zbranek, this fine young |
|
|
Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability within his |
|
|
troop by serving as a patrol and crew leader, and his involvement in |
|
|
the organization's Order of the Arrow honor society and other |
|
|
activities has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow |
|
|
scouts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Zbranek has also distinguished himself in other |
|
|
pursuits; he was elected president of his freshman and sophomore |
|
|
classes at East Chambers High School and was named a 2007 Hugh |
|
|
O'Brian Youth Leadership representative; in addition, he has |
|
|
enjoyed considerable success in University Interscholastic League |
|
|
academic competitions, where he has earned district first place |
|
|
honors in the cross-x debate and one act play individual categories |
|
|
and has been part of his school's winning teams in the current |
|
|
events and social studies regional competitions; moreover, he has |
|
|
been a member of the persuasive speaking team and the junior varsity |
|
|
and freshman tennis teams at East Chambers High; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Zbranek's dedication to excellence and |
|
|
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|
|
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Zachary Zbranek on achieving the |
|
|
rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Zbranek as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
