R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, July 29, 2006, marked the 50th wedding anniversary |
|
|
of Herbert and Maurene Thurman, and this joyous event has provided a |
|
|
fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together |
|
|
as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Herbert Thurman and the former Maurene Turney were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1956, at a ceremony held at First Baptist |
|
|
Church in Dublin; through the years, they have been blessed with a |
|
|
treasured family that includes a daughter, Cathy Dawson and her |
|
|
husband, Dale, as well as two granddaughters, Chantel Chiu and her |
|
|
husband, Thomas, and Andrea Dawson; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Thurman |
|
|
is a retired owner of an insurance claims service and Mrs. Thurman |
|
|
is retired from Unocal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Thurman |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Herbert and Maurene Thurman on |
|
|
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thurman as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
