R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 56th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and Curtis and Flora McClain of Midland |
|
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on June 8, 2006; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Curtis McClain and the former Flora Coker were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1950 in Waco; through the years, they have |
|
|
been blessed with a treasured family that includes four sons, |
|
|
Curtis, Stan, John, and Robert McClain, as well as four |
|
|
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. McClain retired from the U.S. Army after 20 |
|
|
years of service and started Traveling Key Locksmith in 1988; he has |
|
|
been active in the Midland Downtown Lions Club, and he and Mrs. |
|
|
McClain are members of the Westside Church of Christ; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. McClain have enjoyed 56 years of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Curtis and Flora McClain on their |
|
|
56th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McClain as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
