H.R. No. 931

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, June 8, 2006, marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Ronnie and Linda Christian of Stanton, and this joyous event has provided a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife; and

WHEREAS, Ronnie Christian and the former Mylinda Rogers were joined in matrimony in 1956, at a ceremony held at Asbury United Methodist Church in Lubbock; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes three children and their spouses, Darrell Christian and his wife, Jana, Dean Christian and his wife, Kim, and Dymorie Maker and her husband, Steve, as well as five grandchildren, Amber, Michael, Heather, Kristan, and Sarah, and one great-grandchild, MacKenna; and

WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Christian is retired from Cap Rock Electric Cooperative and works for Eco-logical Environmental Services and Mrs. Christian works for the First United Methodist Church in Stanton; and

WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Christian have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ronnie and Linda Christian on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Christian as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
