R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The congregants of First St. Mark Missionary Baptist
  Church in Houston are deeply appreciative of the Reverend Murphy D.
  Simon, Jr., and his wife, Sister April Simon, who have dedicated
  four years of service to the church; and
         WHEREAS, Through their outstanding spiritual leadership,
  compassionate guidance, and strong faith, Reverend and Sister Simon
  are commendable role models for many; and
         WHEREAS, The couple shared their talents with St. John
  Missionary Baptist Church and Lilly Grove Baptist Church before
  coming to First St. Mark Missionary Baptist; they have diligently
  worked in behalf of his congregation and the members of the wider
  community and continue to offer comfort to those who seek their
  assistance; and
         WHEREAS, The Simons have enhanced the lives of countless
  individuals during their service as church leaders, and they
  continue to be a steadfast source of inspiration to their
  congregation; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Murphy D. Simon, Jr.,
  and Sister April Simon on their fourth anniversary with First St.
  Mark Missionary Baptist Church and extend to them sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Pastor and Mrs. Simon as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
