R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
  and shared experiences, and David and Helen Vandivere of Lamesa
  celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on July 28,
  2006; and
         WHEREAS, David Vandivere and the former Helen Stephens were
  joined in matrimony in 1956 at the First Christian Church in Lamesa;
  through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family
  that includes their children, Doyce Vandivere and his wife, Susan,
  Jamie Vandivere, and Vicki Fraser, as well as four grandchildren
  and one great-granddaughter; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Vandivere
  is retired from the electric company and now raises cattle, and Mrs.
  Vandivere is retired from the Lamesa Independent School District;
  in addition to meeting their work and family responsibilities, they
  have been valued members of First United Methodist Church in
  Lamesa; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Vandivere have enjoyed five decades of
  abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate David and Helen Vandivere on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Vandivere as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
