R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Business owners from throughout the region are |
|
|
traveling to Houston to attend the Women's Business Enterprise |
|
|
Alliance 10th Annual EXPO on May 16-17, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An affiliate of the Women's Business Enterprise |
|
|
National Council, this Houston-based nonprofit serves as a |
|
|
third-party certifying organization for women-owned businesses in |
|
|
94 Texas counties; moreover, the WBEA works to support the success |
|
|
of these businesses by linking them with strategic corporate and |
|
|
governmental partners; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The EXPO, which is featuring more than 150 |
|
|
exhibitors, promises to be an outstanding networking occasion for |
|
|
women entrepreneurs, befitting its theme, "Connections 2007"; |
|
|
proceeds from the event will go to support WBEA members through |
|
|
scholarships, business enhancement seminars, and educational |
|
|
programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A vital resource for female business owners, the |
|
|
WBEA contributes immeasurably to the dynamic economy of the Lone |
|
|
Star State, and the group is indeed worthy of special recognition on |
|
|
the occasion of its 10th Annual EXPO; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance |
|
|
for its work in behalf of women-owned businesses and extend sincere |
|
|
best wishes to its members for an enjoyable and successful event; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance as an |
|
|
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
