R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends mourn the loss of Van A.
  Eisenmann of Hurst, who passed away on February 19, 2007, at the age
  of 79; and
         WHEREAS, Born August 15, 1927, in Charleston, South Carolina,
  Van Eisenmann pursued his higher education at The Citadel;
  answering his nation's call to duty, he was a pilot for the United
  States Navy for 14 years, which included service in the Korean War;
  and
         WHEREAS, He met his future wife, Lucy, in 1951 when he was
  recovering from an illness in a military hospital where she was
  working as a nurse; they were wed a year later in Silver Spring,
  Maryland; their happy union lasted 52 years, until Mr. Eisenmann's
  death, and together they were the parents of three sons; and
         WHEREAS, Joining American Airlines in 1957, he flew for the
  company for 30 years, until his retirement in 1987 at the age of 60;
  he taught his sons how to fly, and his youngest son, Kurt, followed
  in his father's footsteps to fly for American Airlines as well; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his church and the Boy Scouts, Mr.
  Eisenmann was also a member of Gideons International, the Lions
  Club, and the Grey Eagles, an organization composed of American
  Airlines pilots over 50 years of age; and
         WHEREAS, Van Eisenmann will be remembered with respect and
  affection by his loved ones as a devoted family man, a born teacher,
  and a kind and honest man; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the life of Van A. Eisenmann and extend
  sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Lucy
  Eisenmann; to his sons, Van Eisenmann III and his wife, Nikki,
  Robert Eisenmann and his wife, Kandy, and Kurt Eisenmann and his
  wife, Traci; to his nine grandchildren; and to his other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Van A.
  Eisenmann.
