R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Elizabeth Pospisil of Plano has been named Miss
  Texas Junior Teen America 2007, having earned the title at the
  Texas/Arizona Teen Pageant that took place on March 3 in Phoenix,
  Arizona; and
         WHEREAS, An 11-year-old student at Robinson Middle School in
  Plano, Elizabeth Pospisil earned her title on the basis of her
  outstanding scores in the categories of talent, fitness, speech,
  service, interview, modeling, photogenic quality, and evening
  wear; and
         WHEREAS, This poised young lady will serve as a spokesperson
  for the National Kidney Foundation as part of her duties, and she
  will represent the State of Texas at the national level, vying for
  the Miss Junior Teen America crown at a competition that will be
  held in Connecticut in July; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her success in pageants, Ms. Pospisil
  pursues a number of other interests; she excels in public speaking
  and placed second in a storytelling contest organized by the Plano
  Independent School District and finished as first runner-up at the
  Texas State Speech Competition; a talented and motivated athlete as
  well, she is a competitive ice skater for the Stars Figure Skating
  Club of Texas in Plano and has dreams of one day competing in the
  Winter Olympics; and
         WHEREAS, The grace and skill of Ms. Pospisil will serve her
  well throughout her life, and she may indeed reflect with pride on
  her exciting achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Pospisil on being named
  Miss Texas Junior Teen America 2007 and extend to her best wishes
  for success in all of her future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Pospisil as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
