R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A group of students from Carden-Jackson School in |
|
Pearland is visiting the State Capitol on March 22, 2007, to learn |
|
more about the government and history of the Lone Star State; and |
|
WHEREAS, With the 80th Legislative Session well underway, the |
|
Capitol Complex is a source of great activity, offering visitors an |
|
excellent opportunity to see their state government in action |
|
firsthand; and |
|
WHEREAS, While in Austin, these fifth and sixth grade |
|
students and their sponsors will tour the Capitol and increase |
|
their awareness of the fascinating history of this monument to |
|
freedom and democracy; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol is an ideal setting for young and |
|
old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and |
|
to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and it |
|
is a pleasure to welcome members of the Carden-Jackson School |
|
community at this time; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the visiting students and sponsors from |
|
Carden-Jackson School on their interest in state government and |
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for an informative and memorable |
|
visit to the Capitol. |
