R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, On August 11, 2006, Vernon and Faye Kidd celebrated |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary, and this joyous event provides a |
|
|
fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together |
|
|
as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Vernon Kidd and the former Faye McCulloch were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1946 in Alcoa; through the years, they have |
|
|
been blessed with a treasured family that includes two children and |
|
|
their spouses, Wayland Kidd and his wife, Dagmar, and Nancy Baggett |
|
|
and her husband, Kelly, as well as three grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Kidd |
|
|
worked for more than four decades in the parts departments of three |
|
|
major dealerships and Mrs. Kidd has been a dedicated homemaker |
|
|
throughout the couple's marriage; in addition to meeting their work |
|
|
and family responsibilities, they have been valued members of First |
|
|
Baptist Church, where Mr. Kidd is a deacon and Mrs. Kidd shares |
|
|
duties in the library and the television ministry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 60 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Kidd have |
|
|
shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Vernon and Faye Kidd on their 60th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Kidd as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
