R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Fred and Ida Calaway of Midland |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 6, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Fred Calaway and the former Ida McDaniel were united |
|
|
in matrimony in Poteau, Oklahoma, in 1956; they have nurtured a |
|
|
close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of their children, Ron Calaway and his wife, Laurie, |
|
|
Pam Baswell and her husband, Bill, Janna Van Hoozer and her husband, |
|
|
Ken, and Cristi Johnson, as well as eight grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Calaway worked for Lane Wells and Dresser Atlas |
|
|
until 1979, and then he operated his own businesses until his |
|
|
retirement in 2000; Mrs. Calaway retired in May 2006 after 16 years |
|
|
of service with the Midland Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Fred and Ida Calaway on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Calaway as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
