R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five |
|
decades, Ben and Marsha Shattuck of Midland celebrated their 50th |
|
wedding anniversary on July 14, 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Shattuck exchanged the vows of |
|
matrimony at the First Baptist Church in Midland on that special day |
|
in 1956, and over the course of their marriage, they have found in |
|
each other a devoted life partner; and |
|
WHEREAS, The couple count among their blessings a fine family |
|
that includes two daughters, Melissa Light and her husband, Russ, |
|
and Beverly Graham and her husband, Randy, as well as five |
|
grandchildren, Sara, Kyle, Brittany, Christopher, and Michael, and |
|
one great-grandchild, Matthew, with whom they treasure sharing the |
|
many special occasions of life; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Shattuck worked at Sinclair Oil and Gas and |
|
Atlantic Richfield for 25 years before retiring; Mrs. Shattuck |
|
worked for Geo-Search Corporation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Ben and |
|
Marsha Shattuck can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ben and Marsha Shattuck on their |
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Shattuck as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
