R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The men and women of the National Guard and the |
|
United States Air Force, Army, and Navy Reserves have played an |
|
increasingly vital role in safeguarding the interests of our nation |
|
in recent years; whether working to make America safer at home, |
|
fighting the global war on terror, or helping citizens recover from |
|
natural disasters, they serve this nation with great courage, |
|
dedication, and devotion to duty; and |
|
WHEREAS, One such individual is Eric Shelton Sims, a |
|
dedicated member of the Texas Army National Guard, who is deserving |
|
of our highest praise for his exemplary service in behalf of this |
|
country; and |
|
WHEREAS, A resident of Georgetown, Eric Sims serves as a |
|
trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety in his civilian |
|
life; and |
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to |
|
Trooper Sims and to all of the country's military personnel, for |
|
they are called on to bear great, often unimaginable, burdens, and |
|
they render service and sacrifice that is truly beyond measure; and |
|
WHEREAS, Trooper Sims embodies the highest ideals of the U.S. |
|
armed forces, and his steadfast service has earned him the sincere |
|
appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Trooper Eric Shelton Sims for his service |
|
to his country and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Trooper Sims as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
