R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, For 94 years, families have come together to |
|
celebrate their faith at Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church in Texas |
|
City; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1913, Barbour's Chapel has played a |
|
vital role in the community, providing its members with a welcome |
|
opportunity for spiritual growth, fellowship, and community |
|
outreach; and |
|
WHEREAS, The congregation has been blessed with many |
|
compassionate and able leaders through the years, and today that |
|
legacy continues with the inspired teachings of Pastor James E. |
|
Brown, Sr.; and |
|
WHEREAS, For more than nine decades, Barbour's Chapel Baptist |
|
Church has served as a source of strength and guidance to those who |
|
have worshiped there, and the church stands as a tribute to the |
|
faith and dedication of its members, both past and present, who have |
|
devoted their time, prayers, and resources to ensure its continued |
|
existence; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church on the |
|
94th anniversary of its founding and extend to Pastor James E. |
|
Brown, Sr., and his congregation sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Pastor Brown and the church as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
