R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, After 42 years of exemplary service, engineer Gary
  Johnson will retire from the Federal Highway Administration on May
  2, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his notable career with the
  agency, Mr. Johnson has distinguished himself in several different
  highway districts in the Lone Star State, earning the respect and
  admiration of his peers; and
         WHEREAS, In recent years, he has served as the Houston major
  projects engineer, helping to oversee projects in a large and
  dynamic district that includes Harris and Galveston Counties; and
         WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, he has long been
  active in the Blackland Prairie Association, working to preserve
  the interests of rural communities in Travis County; and
         WHEREAS, Gary Johnson's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited his fellow Texans,
  and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he
  prepares to embark on the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Gary Johnson on his retirement from
  the Federal Highway Administration and extend to him best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
