R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Robert and Eugenia Smith of Lamesa |
|
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 20, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert Smith and the former Jean Renner were united |
|
|
in matrimony in Lamesa in 1946; they have nurtured a close and |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of four children, Ricky Smith, Leslie Smith, Carolyn Ray, |
|
|
and Teresa Luna, as well as 11 grandchildren and nine |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith is a former Dawson County district clerk; |
|
|
Mrs. Smith is a homemaker whose homemade biscuits make each day |
|
|
special; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife have taken |
|
|
comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast |
|
|
support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's |
|
|
challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Jean Smith on their 60th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Smith as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
