R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Ted and Sue Schmidt of Midland |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 24, 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ted Schmidt and the former Sue Frisbie were united |
|
in matrimony in Arlington, Virginia, in 1956; they have nurtured a |
|
close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
the addition of five children, Eric Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt and his |
|
wife, Kala, Laurie Jiles and her husband, Jay, Karl Schmidt and his |
|
wife, Doris, and Linda Wall and her husband, Adam, as well as six |
|
grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Schmidt was a geophysicist with Skelly, Mesa, |
|
and Texas Seismic Network before retiring; he and Mrs. Schmidt are |
|
members of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ted and Sue Schmidt on their golden |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
