R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Ted and Sue Schmidt of Midland
  celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 24, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, Ted Schmidt and the former Sue Frisbie were united
  in matrimony in Arlington, Virginia, in 1956; they have nurtured a
  close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
  the addition of five children, Eric Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt and his
  wife, Kala, Laurie Jiles and her husband, Jay, Karl Schmidt and his
  wife, Doris, and Linda Wall and her husband, Adam, as well as six
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Schmidt was a geophysicist with Skelly, Mesa,
  and Texas Seismic Network before retiring; he and Mrs. Schmidt are
  members of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church; and
         WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world
  over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have
  taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the
  steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to
  meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and
  determination; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ted and Sue Schmidt on their golden
  wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
