R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and Vernard and Patti Alexander of Midland |
|
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 18, |
|
|
2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Vernard Alexander and the former Patti Pipkin were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1956 in Matador; through the years, they have |
|
|
been blessed with a treasured family that includes four daughters, |
|
|
Leslie Nix and her husband, Laynce, Heather Davis and her husband, |
|
|
Sam, Linda Williams and her husband, Ross, and Michelle Alexander, |
|
|
as well as six grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Alexander |
|
|
is a retired coach and administrator and Mrs. Alexander is a retired |
|
|
teacher; in addition to meeting their career and family |
|
|
responsibilities, they have been valued members of First United |
|
|
Methodist Church of Midland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Vernard and Patti Alexander on |
|
|
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Alexander as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
