R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five |
|
decades, Clyde and Norma Fisher of Midland celebrated their 50th |
|
wedding anniversary on June 24, 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Clyde Fisher and the former Norma Nichols exchanged |
|
the vows of matrimony at Southside Church of Christ in Midland on |
|
that special day in 1956, and over the course of their marriage, |
|
they have found in each other a devoted life partner; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher count among their blessings a |
|
family that includes four children, Melinda Bankston, Pamela |
|
Robles, Donna Vining, and Paula Guinan, as well as seven |
|
grandchildren, with whom they treasure sharing the many special |
|
occasions of life; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher was a firefighter in Midland for 23 |
|
years, and he drove school buses for 19 years after retiring from |
|
the fire department; Mrs. Fisher was a secretary for the Midland ISD |
|
for 33 years; the couple are members of Northeast Church of Christ |
|
in Odessa, and Mrs. Fisher volunteers at Medical Center Hospital; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Clyde and |
|
Norma Fisher can savor a wealth of cherished memories and know that |
|
the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more |
|
joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Clyde and Norma Fisher on their |
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Fisher as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
