R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five
  decades, Clyde and Norma Fisher of Midland celebrated their 50th
  wedding anniversary on June 24, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, Clyde Fisher and the former Norma Nichols exchanged
  the vows of matrimony at Southside Church of Christ in Midland on
  that special day in 1956, and over the course of their marriage,
  they have found in each other a devoted life partner; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher count among their blessings a
  family that includes four children, Melinda Bankston, Pamela
  Robles, Donna Vining, and Paula Guinan, as well as seven
  grandchildren, with whom they treasure sharing the many special
  occasions of life; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher was a firefighter in Midland for 23
  years, and he drove school buses for 19 years after retiring from
  the fire department; Mrs. Fisher was a secretary for the Midland ISD
  for 33 years; the couple are members of Northeast Church of Christ
  in Odessa, and Mrs. Fisher volunteers at Medical Center Hospital;
  and
         WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Clyde and
  Norma Fisher can savor a wealth of cherished memories and know that
  the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more
  joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Clyde and Norma Fisher on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Fisher as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
