R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, September 11, 2006, marked the 58th wedding |
|
|
anniversary of Beverly and George Horst of Midland, and this joyous |
|
|
event provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, George Horst and the former Beverly Swann were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1948 at a ceremony held in St. Paul, |
|
|
Minnesota; through the years, they have been blessed with a |
|
|
treasured family that includes four children, Steve Horst, James |
|
|
Horst, Nancy Turner, and Jill Dolloff, as well as eight |
|
|
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Horst |
|
|
worked for Schlumberger for more than 30 years and later Horst and |
|
|
McKnight until his retirement and Mrs. Horst is a homemaker; in |
|
|
addition to meeting their career and family responsibilities, the |
|
|
couple have been valued members of St. Paul's Anglican Church, and |
|
|
Mr. Horst is a member of the Elks Lodge; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 58 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Horst have |
|
|
shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Beverly and George Horst on their |
|
|
58th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Horst as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
