R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Thomas and Martha Vannaman of Midland |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Thomas L. Vannaman and the former Martha Stone were |
|
united in matrimony at the First United Methodist Church in Midland |
|
in 1956; they have nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has |
|
been made even richer with the addition of three children, Valerie, |
|
Thomas, and Timothy Vannaman, as well as five grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Vannaman served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years and |
|
taught accounting and economics for Midland College for 30 years; |
|
in addition, he is active in the Midland Masonic Lodge No. 623, |
|
Tranquility Lodge No. 2000, and Grand Lodge of Texas; he and Mrs. |
|
Vannaman are valued members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Thomas and Martha Vannaman on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Vannaman as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
