R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, September 15, 2006, marked the 50th anniversary of |
|
|
Ruth and Allen Fields of Levelland, and this joyous event provides a |
|
|
fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together |
|
|
as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Allen Fields and the former Ruth McLain were joined |
|
|
in matrimony in 1956 in Woodward, Oklahoma; through the years, they |
|
|
have been blessed with a treasured family that includes four |
|
|
children, Kathy Hart, Karen Towles, Philip Fields, and Kaylene |
|
|
Burns, as well as 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Fields are both retired and devote their time to actively |
|
|
volunteering with Angel Food Ministries and Community and Senior |
|
|
Services; in addition to meeting their work and family |
|
|
responsibilities, they have been valued congregants of the First |
|
|
Assembly of God; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Fields |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ruth and Allen Fields on their 50th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Fields as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
