R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Hurst-Euless-Bedford (HEB) ISD has been recognized |
|
|
as one of the Best 100 Communities for Music Education by the |
|
|
American Music Conference; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of only 12 school districts in Texas to receive |
|
|
this prestigious honor, HEB ISD was selected out of thousands of |
|
|
applicants, which were measured according to a variety of criteria |
|
|
ranging from funding to student-teacher ratios; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the auspices of the district's Fine Arts |
|
|
Department, the music education program at HEB ISD has outstanding |
|
|
teachers who provide students with a wealth of opportunities to |
|
|
develop their creative talents and critical thinking and |
|
|
problem-solving skills; activities offered are wide-ranging and |
|
|
include orchestra, choir, and theory classes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Quality music education is a cornerstone of academic |
|
|
success, and in earning this recent recognition, HEB ISD has |
|
|
asserted itself as a national leader in this important endeavor; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate all associated with the |
|
|
Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District music program on |
|
|
being named one of the Best 100 Communities for Music Education by |
|
|
the American Music Conference; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the district as an expression of best wishes and high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
