R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, D. N. Jackson died on November 25, 2006, leaving
  behind a loving family and a legacy of accomplishments that will be
  remembered for years to come; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Van on June 25, 1925, Mr. Jackson was a
  sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; he worked
  in the Airways Communications System Unit for ground and mobile
  stations in the European Theater of Operations; and
         WHEREAS, Dan Jackson graduated from the University of
  Southern California in 1952 and married the former Evelyn Warner on
  February 14, 1953; he sold insurance in Houston and Dallas before
  moving to Ellis County; he taught at Waxahachie Junior High School
  and was an antiques dealer; and
         WHEREAS, A valued member of his community, Mr. Jackson served
  alongside his wife, Evelyn, as a youth director at St. Bernard of
  Clairvaux Catholic Church in the 1960s and 1970s, and he later
  volunteered his time with St. Albans Episcopal Church in Austin
  from 2000 to 2003; also involved in local politics, he was elected
  Republican Party Chair for Dallas County in the early 1960s and was
  chosen Republican County Chair of Ellis County in 1994; and
         WHEREAS, Dan Jackson ably served his country and contributed
  greatly to the communities he called home, and he is deeply missed
  by the many individuals whose lives were enriched by his love and
  friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of D. N. Jackson and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  daughter, Jody, and her husband, Tom Harrison; to his daughter,
  Kelley, and her husband, Claude Thomas; to his granddaughter,
  Rebecca Harrison; to his grandson, Sherman Harrison; to his
  great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Velasquez; and to his many other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
  D. N. Jackson.
