R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of James Earl Keffer of Dallas, who passed away on March 9, 2007, at
  the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, Born on September 17, 1921, in Lipscomb, James
  Keffer attended Texas Tech University and served his country as a
  member of the U.S. Army during World War II; he was employed as a
  credit manager for Continental-Emsco Oil Field Supply Company for
  45 years, during which time he worked in Texas, Oklahoma, and
  Canada; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Keffer was devoted to his wife, Jean, with whom
  he shared nearly 60 years, and he was the proud father of three
  children, Representative Jim Keffer, Bill Keffer, and Mona Gedney;
  and
         WHEREAS, A longtime member of Believers Chapel, James Keffer
  inspired others with his fortitude, faith, and courage; although he
  will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all
  those whose lives he so richly blessed with his wisdom and kindness;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Earl Keffer and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sons,
  Representative Jim Keffer and his wife, Leslie, and Bill Keffer and
  his wife, Elizabeth; to his daughter, Mona Gedney and her husband,
  Clark; to his grandchildren, Vanessa, Brad, Chris and his wife,
  Ashley, Rob, Scott, Caroline, and Doug; to his sisters, Mary
  Johnson, Charlotte Bussard, and Pat Moore; to his brother, John
  Keffer; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James Earl
  Keffer.
