R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of James Earl Keffer of Dallas, who passed away on March 9, 2007, at |
|
the age of 85; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on September 17, 1921, in Lipscomb, James |
|
Keffer attended Texas Tech University and served his country as a |
|
member of the U.S. Army during World War II; he was employed as a |
|
credit manager for Continental-Emsco Oil Field Supply Company for |
|
45 years, during which time he worked in Texas, Oklahoma, and |
|
Canada; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Keffer was devoted to his wife, Jean, with whom |
|
he shared nearly 60 years, and he was the proud father of three |
|
children, Representative Jim Keffer, Bill Keffer, and Mona Gedney; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A longtime member of Believers Chapel, James Keffer |
|
inspired others with his fortitude, faith, and courage; although he |
|
will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all |
|
those whose lives he so richly blessed with his wisdom and kindness; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Earl Keffer and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sons, |
|
Representative Jim Keffer and his wife, Leslie, and Bill Keffer and |
|
his wife, Elizabeth; to his daughter, Mona Gedney and her husband, |
|
Clark; to his grandchildren, Vanessa, Brad, Chris and his wife, |
|
Ashley, Rob, Scott, Caroline, and Doug; to his sisters, Mary |
|
Johnson, Charlotte Bussard, and Pat Moore; to his brother, John |
|
Keffer; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James Earl |
|
Keffer. |
