R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Jimmy R. Vaughan has set an |
|
inspiring example for his loved ones, pursuing each of his |
|
endeavors with diligence and integrity, and his March 2007 |
|
retirement provides an opportune time to honor him for a job well |
|
done at the close of his career; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Vaughan learned the value of hard work at an |
|
early age; by the time he was 11, he had found jobs picking pecans, |
|
mowing lawns, recycling cola bottles, and delivering newspapers; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Early in his career, he was employed by Frito-Lay, |
|
and his 11 years with the company were interrupted by the advent of |
|
the Vietnam War; he joined the Army and bravely served this nation |
|
overseas, and following his honorable discharge, Mr. Vaughan |
|
remained in the reserves for several years while providing for his |
|
family; helping to form the first union at Frito-Lay during his |
|
tenure with the company, he also worked for Decker Foods before |
|
joining Brookshire Grocery Company in the mid-1980s; and |
|
WHEREAS, Now retiring from his employer after 21 years of |
|
service, Jimmy Vaughan may indeed reflect with pride on the |
|
important life lessons he has shared with his family and the high |
|
esteem in which he is held by all who are privileged to know him; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jimmy R. Vaughan on his retirement |
|
from Brookshire Grocery Company and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Vaughan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
