R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The year 2007 marks the 75th anniversary of Texas
  Young Democrats, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity
  to pay tribute to this venerable organization; and
         WHEREAS, Formed in 1932, Texas Young Democrats brings
  together high school and college students, youth leaders, and young
  professionals to take part in the political process as supporters
  of the Democratic Party; and
         WHEREAS, The organization provides a forum for Texans to
  learn about politics, meet other activists, debate issues, and
  improve interpersonal and leadership skills, and many of its
  members have enjoyed distinguished careers in public service; and
         WHEREAS, For three-quarters of a century, Texas Young
  Democrats has been an energetic force in the political affairs of
  the Lone Star State; by urging engagement in public dialog, the
  group has forged stronger links between citizens and their
  governmental representatives and helped strengthen the rights and
  traditions that are the foundation of American democracy; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Texas Young Democrats on its 75th
  anniversary and extend best wishes to the organization's members
  for their participation in electoral politics; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Texas Young Democrats as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
