R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Army Private First |
|
Class Allen Brenton Jaynes of Murchison suffered an immeasurable |
|
loss with his death in Iraq on January 20, 2007, at the age of 21; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, |
|
2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Carson, |
|
Colorado, Private Jaynes was mortally injured when an improvised |
|
explosive device detonated near his vehicle; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on May 28, 1985, in New Memphis, Arkansas, |
|
Allen Jaynes moved with his family to East Texas, where he graduated |
|
in 2005 from Brownsboro High School; after joining the army, he |
|
attended basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was deployed to |
|
Iraq in October 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Private Jaynes, known as "Fuzzy" to his family and |
|
friends, was active in high school theater as a member of the |
|
technical crew; in addition, he enjoyed listening to music, playing |
|
video games, and snowboarding; devoted to his younger brother and |
|
sister, he impressed others with his easygoing optimism and his |
|
love for people; and |
|
WHEREAS, Private Jaynes has been awarded the Good Conduct |
|
Medal, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart; and |
|
WHEREAS, Time can never diminish the profound debt that |
|
Americans owe to Allen Jaynes for the service he undertook and the |
|
sacrifice he rendered, and the thoughts and prayers of many go out |
|
to the family of this beloved young man; he was a soldier of honor |
|
and valor, and those who were privileged to know him will forever |
|
carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That tribute be paid to the life of Allen Brenton |
|
Jaynes and that sincere sympathy be extended to the members of his |
|
family: to his mother, Carrissa Pruitt; to his brother, Bryan |
|
Pruitt; to his sister, Stephanie Pruitt; to his grandparents, Sue |
|
and Ray Charest; to his special friend, Ashley Raiford; and to his |
|
other relatives and many friends. |
