R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Thorndale High School Bulldogs won the 2007 |
|
|
Class A Division I boys' state basketball championship with a |
|
|
thrilling 39-37 victory over the Martin's Mill Mustangs on March |
|
|
10, 2007, at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Led by head coach Jeff Lieberman, the Bulldogs |
|
|
demonstrated remarkable skill and determination throughout the |
|
|
state tournament, dominating the New Deal Lions in the semifinals |
|
|
before topping a talented Mustangs squad to capture the coveted |
|
|
state crown; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Thorndale ended the season with an impressive 28-2 |
|
|
record, and the team's first state championship has brought |
|
|
well-deserved recognition to the Thorndale High School athletic |
|
|
department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is the goal of every |
|
|
high school athlete, and the members of the Thorndale Bulldogs |
|
|
boys' basketball team will cherish the memory of this |
|
|
accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Jeff Lieberman and the |
|
|
Thorndale Bulldogs basketball team on winning the 2007 Class A |
|
|
Division I boys' state basketball championship and extend best |
|
|
wishes to all who contributed to this significant achievement; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Coach Lieberman and the team as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
