R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Corpus Christi native Eva Longoria celebrated her |
|
|
32nd birthday in March 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This talented actress has brought acclaim to her |
|
|
home state of Texas through her outstanding performances in |
|
|
television programs, motion pictures, and stage productions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Best known for her portrayal of Gabrielle Solis on |
|
|
the TV series Desperate Housewives, Ms. Longoria previously starred |
|
|
in The Young and the Restless and L.A. Dragnet and had a number of |
|
|
roles in other programs; in addition, she has received attention |
|
|
for her work in movies such as The Sentinel, Harsh Times, and |
|
|
Carlita's Secret and has appeared in stage shows such as What the |
|
|
Rabbi Saw and the comedy review Hot Tamales Live; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Longoria graduated from Roy Miller High School |
|
|
in Corpus Christi and earned a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M |
|
|
University-Kingsville; a winner of the Miss Corpus Christi USA |
|
|
title in 1998, she made her way to Hollywood after placing first in |
|
|
a talent contest and has since developed into an accomplished |
|
|
entertainer; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Citizens of the Lone Star State take pride in |
|
|
claiming Eva Longoria as one of our own, and it is a pleasure to |
|
|
recognize her and honor her for her achievements; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby send birthday greetings to Eva Longoria and |
|
|
extend to her best wishes for continued good fortune; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Longoria as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
