R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Trooper Jorge Vargas is retiring from the Texas |
|
Department of Public Safety in 2007, drawing to a close an |
|
outstanding 25-year career with the State of Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Trooper Vargas joined DPS on January 13, 1982, |
|
working with the driver license division in Dallas; during his |
|
tenure in North Texas, he was detached to the governor's detail |
|
under Governor Bill Clements and also worked with the highway |
|
patrol and motor vehicle inspection; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1994, he transferred to El Paso, where he was with |
|
the highway patrol and commercial motor vehicle service before |
|
gaining assignment with the driver license service, where he |
|
continued throughout the remainder of his career; and |
|
WHEREAS, For a quarter-century, Trooper Vargas has served the |
|
State of Texas with integrity and dedication, earning the lasting |
|
respect of all those who have been privileged to work with him, and |
|
it is indeed a pleasure to recognize him for his exemplary tenure |
|
with the Texas Department of Public Safety as he embarks on an |
|
exciting new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Trooper Jorge Vargas on the |
|
occasion of his retirement as a trooper with the Texas Department of |
|
Public Safety and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Trooper Vargas as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
