H.R. No. 1338
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kurt Metscher of Austin has attained the rank of
  Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special
  recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
  honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
  scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
  criteria, Mr. Metscher earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
  successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his
  community, in which he replaced trail borders, corrected erosion
  problems, and repaired a vandalized bench at Pace Bend Park in
  Travis County; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Mike and Julie Metscher, this Lake Travis
  High School senior has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
  throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration
  of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that
  scouting offers; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Metscher's dedication to excellence and
  his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
  to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
  pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kurt Metscher on achieving the rank
  of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Metscher as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
