R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, El Paso attorney Kathleen Campbell Walker delivered
  the keynote address at the Northwest Immigration Conference that
  was presented by the Oregon Chapter of the American Immigration
  Lawyers Association on March 1 and 2, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, The president-elect of the AILA and a partner in the
  immigration department of the Kemp Smith law firm based in El Paso,
  Ms. Walker is a nationally recognized expert in immigration law who
  has shared her knowledge in testimony before congressional
  committees; and
         WHEREAS, This accomplished attorney is also a prominent
  authority on specific border-related issues in the Lone Star State;
  a member of several State Bar of Texas committees on immigration,
  she also serves on the Texas Border Infrastructure Committee of the
  Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, has represented El Paso on
  the executive committee of the Texas Border Infrastructure
  Coalition, and was president of the El Paso Foreign Trade
  Association for four years; and
         WHEREAS, Highly respected by her peers, Ms. Walker is listed
  in the immigration category in The Best Lawyers in America and has
  been named a "Texas Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine; in
  2002, she was honored with the AILA National Advocacy Award; these
  accolades indicate the considerable reputation that Kathleen
  Walker has built during her career, and her myriad achievements
  have distinguished her as an exemplary member of the Texas legal
  community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kathleen Campbell Walker on
  delivering the keynote address at the Northwest Immigration
  Conference and commend her for her many professional
  accomplishments; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Walker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
