R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Reverend L. D. Lee of Houston is celebrating 20
  years in the ministry in 2007, and this anniversary offers a fitting
  opportunity to honor this fine gentleman and acknowledge his
  exemplary career; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Reverend Lee studied at
  the University of Houston and Texas Southern University and became
  a licensed and ordained minister after attending the Houston Bible
  Institute and the College of Biblical Studies; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Lee has held a host of positions through
  the years, serving as Sunday school teacher, commitment time
  counselor, youth discipleship counselor, instructor for Holman
  Street Baptist Church Mission and the Missionary Baptist Church
  Association, and spiritual director and counselor for Unity
  Children's Home; he has also been a valued member of the male chorus
  and brotherhood and the music council; and
         WHEREAS, After leading Blessed Hope Baptist Church for five
  years, Reverend Lee founded Greater Vision Church in 2003; the
  original congregation of 350 has grown to include more than 700
  active members, a tribute to Reverend Lee's spiritual guidance and
  visionary leadership; his record of excellence has earned him the
  lasting respect and admiration of his church, as well as
  recognition by Gospel Today magazine as one of "America's Most
  Loved Pastors"; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Lee has demonstrated a wholehearted
  commitment to his church and the wider community, and his faith and
  many good works have been a source of profound inspiration to all
  who know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend L.D. Lee on his 20th
  pastoral anniversary and extend to him sincere appreciation for his
  dedicated service; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Reverend Lee as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
