H.R. No. 1354

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The North Texas Chapter of the International Code Council has received an International Code Council Chapter Merit Award in recognition of its commitment to building safety and fire prevention; and

WHEREAS, The International Code Council develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools, that are commonly adopted by U.S. cities, counties, and states; and

WHEREAS, Representing some 500 members from more than 130 municipal jurisdictions and 40 industries, the North Texas Chapter of the International Code Council provides a forum in which members can stay current on building safety industry news, network with colleagues, and engage in training opportunities; the chapter's receipt of a merit award specifically acknowledges its work with the North Texas Council of Governments to ensure consistent code adoption and to monitor legislation relating to building and construction; and

WHEREAS, Thanks in part to the dedicated efforts of the International Code Council, the United States enjoys some of the highest standards of building safety in the world, and the North Texas Chapter contributes immeasurably to the protection of countless Texans; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the North Texas Chapter of the International Code Council on its receipt of an International Code Council Chapter Merit Award and extend to its officers and members sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the North Texas Chapter of the International Code Council as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
