H.R. No. 1359

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The year 2007 marks 50 years of employment in the banking industry for Christine Kelly of Kosse, and it also signals the close of her distinguished career, as she prepares for her retirement on July 1; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Kelly got her start in financial services at the First State Bank in Kosse in 1957; beginning as a cashier, her skill and intelligence allowed her to advance to the leadership positions of executive vice president and director; today, she serves as vice president of the Kosse branch of Farmers State Bank of Groesbeck; in honor of her half-century of dedicated service, Ms. Kelly is being honored by the Texas Bankers Association; and

WHEREAS, Deeply involved in professional activities and in her community, Ms. Kelly has served as secretary and treasurer for the Heart of Texas branch of the National Association of Bank Women, and in 1998 she was named Woman of the Year by the Brazos Valley Chapter of the American Business Women's Association; moreover, she holds leadership positions in the local chamber of commerce and cemetery club as well as the First United Methodist Church in Kosse; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her exceptional tenure in banking, Ms. Kelly has upheld the highest standards of professionalism and customer service, and she is truly worthy of special recognition for her notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Christine Kelly on her 50 years of work in the banking industry and extend to her best wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Kelly as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
