R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Erik and Sunny Hahn and their children, Samantha |
|
Grace and Nicholas Frederick, visited the Lone Star State in March |
|
2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Much to the delight of Nicholas and Samantha's |
|
maternal grandparents, Dr. Fred M. Carrington and Emma Carrington |
|
of Austin, these precocious youngsters have enjoyed their weeklong |
|
stay and learned much about Texas through visits to the Alamo, the |
|
State Capitol, and the Hill Country; the children were also |
|
fortunate to witness the natural beauty of Central Texas in |
|
springtime, taking in the bluebonnets, the Congress Avenue bridge |
|
bats, and the local deer; and |
|
WHEREAS, Samantha Grace, who was born July 20, 2001, is |
|
blessed with her maternal grandmother's (and a little of her |
|
maternal grandfather's) traits of inner and outer beauty, a |
|
never-ending smile, an inquisitiveness about the world, a desire to |
|
assist others, and concern about nature and all its creatures; she |
|
especially enjoys playing dress-up with her grandma, who often acts |
|
as a makeup artist for her granddaughter; and |
|
WHEREAS, Nicholas Frederick, who was born April 13, 2004, is |
|
blessed with his maternal grandfather's (and a little of his |
|
maternal grandmother's) traits of strength, determination, |
|
independence, intelligence, quick-wittedness, and seriousness with |
|
the ability to have fun, play, and enjoy life; he admires his |
|
grandpa, and the two especially enjoy swimming and mowing the lawn |
|
together; and |
|
WHEREAS, During their holiday stay, the Hahn family has |
|
experienced a culture like none other, and it is most fitting that |
|
they be accorded a hearty Texas greeting; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize Samantha and Nicholas and their |
|
parents, Erik and Sunny Hahn, and extend to them best wishes for |
|
continued good fortune and a speedy return to the Lone Star State; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
