R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, George W. Bush was sworn into office as the 43rd
  President of the United States on January 20, 2001, and is currently
  serving his second term as president; prior to his presidency,
  George W. Bush served for six years as the 46th Governor of the
  State of Texas, the first governor in Texas history to be elected to
  consecutive four-year terms; and
         WHEREAS, In recognition of his service to his home state and
  the nation, an effort has been initiated to have the portion of
  Central Expressway in Dallas between downtown Dallas and Collin
  County designated as the George W. Bush Expressway; and
         WHEREAS, The segment of the expressway selected for this
  designation is particularly appropriate, as it runs adjacent to the
  campus of Southern Methodist University, alma mater of First Lady
  Laura Bush and expected home of the George W. Bush Presidential
  Library, and bisects the President George H. W. Bush Turnpike;
  further, President Bush and the First Lady, who lived in Dallas from
  1988 to 1994, are likely to live in this area of Dallas when they
  return to Texas; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the effort to designate a portion of
  Central Expressway in Dallas as the George W. Bush Expressway; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That the chief clerk of the house of
  representatives forward official copies of this resolution to the
  president of the United States, the mayor of the City of Dallas, and
  members of the Dallas City Council as an expression of sentiment by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
