H.R. No. 1390

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Frances McGregor and Fred McGregor, Sr., of Canton reached a meaningful milestone in their relationship when they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. McGregor and the former Frances Smith have shared a close and fulfilling marriage; the parents of two sons, Fred Thomas McGregor, Jr., and the late Christopher Anthony McGregor, they have also welcomed into their family daughter-in-law Evelyn McGregor, as well as three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, A Scottish Rite Mason, Mr. McGregor worked in the soft drink industry for more than 50 years while Mrs. McGregor was employed in the banking industry for over 25 years; in addition to fulfilling their work and family obligations, the couple are valued members of the First Baptist Church of Canton; and

WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world over the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife have taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Frances McGregor and Fred McGregor, Sr., on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McGregor as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
