R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Laurie Ball has been selected as the PTA Volunteer |
|
of the Year for the secondary level in recognition of her |
|
outstanding efforts to enhance education in the Mesquite |
|
Independent School District; and |
|
WHEREAS, A respected member of the community, Mrs. Ball |
|
earned a degree in accounting from Texas Tech University; she |
|
worked as a certified public accountant before she and her husband, |
|
Gordon Ball, began their family, which now includes three children, |
|
Clinton, Paige, and Meredith; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ball has been an active voice in the PTA since |
|
1992 and today serves as the budget and finance chair for the |
|
organization's North Mesquite High School branch; her dedicated |
|
service has helped carry forth the PTA mission, which includes |
|
serving as an advocate for students and encouraging parental |
|
involvement in the public schools; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her volunteer work with the PTA, Mrs. |
|
Ball teaches preschool and Bible Drill at the Shiloh Terrace |
|
Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, By lending her time and talents to benefit the |
|
school district, Mrs. Ball has been an asset to her community, and |
|
her work to ensure the quality of education for the children of |
|
Mesquite truly merits special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Laurie Ball for being named |
|
Mesquite ISD's PTA Volunteer of the Year and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Ball as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
