R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Ciro Leonel Trevino of
  Edinburg sustained an immeasurable loss with his passing on March
  20, 2007, at the age of 53; and
         WHEREAS, Born on October 18, 1953, in Edinburg to Ciro
  Trevino and Antonia Anzaldua Trevino, Mr. Trevino attended Sacred
  Heart Catholic School, Edinburg High School, and The University of
  Texas--Pan American, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta
  Fraternity and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia; in keeping with his love of
  music, he earned a bachelor's degree in that discipline and a
  master's degree in secondary supervision; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Trevino's 30-year tenure as a band director was
  the fulfillment of his lifelong ambition; after graduating from
  college, he embarked on his career as an assistant band director in
  the Mercedes Independent School District; he was subsequently hired
  by Edinburg High School as an associate band director, and he later
  served his alma mater as head band director; he spent the final four
  years of his tenure with the district as the school's director of
  fine arts before retiring in June 2006; and
         WHEREAS, A member of the Texas Music Educators and Band
  Masters Associations, he enjoyed the respect of his peers and also
  won the admiration of many of his students with his genuine
  commitment to their welfare and his ever-present good humor, and
  numerous young people were inspired to pursue careers in music as a
  result of his positive example; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to attaining professional success, Mr.
  Trevino enjoyed a rewarding marriage with his wife of 30 years,
  Leticia Montalvo Trevino, and together they were blessed with three
  children, Robert, Aaron, and Amanda; and
         WHEREAS, Although his death has brought great sorrow to his
  loved ones, Ciro Trevino lived a caring and purposeful life, and he
  leaves behind a legacy to treasure for those who held him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ciro Leonel Trevino
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Leticia; to his sons, Robert Daniel Trevino and Aaron Andrew
  Trevino; to his daughter, Amanda Yvette Trevino; to his father,
  Ciro Trevino; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ciro
  Trevino.
