R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Abilene are visiting the State |
|
|
Capitol on April 12, 2007, to gain further insight into the workings |
|
|
of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1979 and sponsored by the Abilene |
|
|
Chamber of Commerce, the program was organized to encourage area |
|
|
residents to increase their awareness of topics affecting their |
|
|
community and to develop well-informed leaders; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Meeting regularly over the course of a nine-month |
|
|
period, participants from business, professional, government, |
|
|
educational, religious, and civic organizations develop leadership |
|
|
skills and enhance their knowledge of vital public issues; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved |
|
|
citizenry and to develop new leaders in Abilene, the program is |
|
|
helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone |
|
|
Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Abilene to the State Capitol |
|
|
and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success. |
