R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, O. F. Jones III of Victoria celebrated his 75th
  birthday on March 26, 2007, and this milestone provides a fitting
  opportunity to recognize his myriad achievements; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Jones was born
  in Cuero in 1932; he graduated from Waco High School and went on to
  earn his bachelor's and law degrees from The University of Texas;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jones has had a distinguished legal career that
  has spanned more than half a century; starting out with the firm of
  Witt, Terrell, Jones & Riley in Waco, he later joined Guittard,
  Henderson, Jones & Lewis in Victoria and in 1972 established the Law
  Office of O. F. Jones III; also trained by the American Arbitration
  Association, he has been a mediator since 1994; and
         WHEREAS, His talents have benefited the Texas Bar Foundation
  board of trustees, the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association board of
  directors, the American Judicature Society, and the American Bar
  Association; he has also held a number of leadership positions,
  serving as director of the State Bar of Texas and president of the
  Victoria County Bar Association; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his many professional
  responsibilities, Mr. Jones has been active in his community,
  sharing his time with the Victoria YMCA, United Fund, American Red
  Cross, and Texas Historical Society, and serving as president of
  the Victoria Rotary Club and the Victoria County Historical
  Society; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jones is blessed with a close-knit family that
  includes his wife of more than 50 years, Nanne O'Keefe Jones, three
  sons, Chris, Britt, and Patrick, daughter, Claudia, and eight
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, With his outstanding record of professional
  accomplishments and a circle of admiring friends, colleagues, and
  family members, "Dink" Jones indeed has reason to celebrate; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate O. F. Jones III on his 75th
  birthday and extend to him warmest best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
