R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life came to an end with the |
|
death of Ken Stoepel of Kerrville on March 19, 2007, at the age of |
|
90; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ken Stoepel was a resident of Kerrville since 1965; |
|
he worked in the automobile business for more than 50 years, and he |
|
owned and operated the Kerrville Ford dealership; moreover, he was |
|
considered by many to be an ambassador for that Hill Country town; |
|
he served as president of the chamber of commerce and the Kiwanis |
|
Club of Kerrville and was on the board of directors for the Texas |
|
State Arts & Crafts Fair; and |
|
WHEREAS, A charter member of the Tejas Vaqueros, Mr. Stoepel |
|
enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and tending the livestock and other |
|
animals on his ranch; in addition, he and his wife, Judy Stoepel, |
|
raised a fine family and shared 65 years of marriage before she |
|
passed away in 2005; and |
|
WHEREAS, Held in the highest regard by all who knew him, Ken |
|
Stoepel dedicated himself to bettering his adopted hometown, and |
|
his rich legacy of civic activism continues to inspire his fellow |
|
citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the life of Ken Stoepel and offer sincere |
|
condolences to the members of his family: to his daughters, Jackie |
|
Tipton and her husband, Rick, and Debbie Stoepel; to his sons, Terry |
|
K. Stoepel and his wife, Renita, Ron K. Stoepel and his wife, Ann, |
|
and Gerry Stoepel and his wife, Suzanne; to his grandchildren, |
|
Nicole and Shaun Tipton and Cupricia, Ronny, Garrett, Tait, Tori, |
|
and Jace Stoepel; to his great-grandchild, Kayla Tipton; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ken |
|
Stoepel. |
