R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Joe William Hahn of Kerrville died on March 5, 2007,
  leaving his circle of family and friends to cherish their many happy
  memories of time spent in his company; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Kerrville on April 24, 1922, Joe Hahn moved
  with his family to Brownsville as a young boy; graduating from
  Brownsville High School in 1940, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy
  in Annapolis and served in the navy for four years during World War
  II; he married Frances Hulsey on September 3, 1949; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hahn was valued for his strong work ethic and
  worked for H.E.B. Grocery Company for more than 20 years before he
  became vice president and a co-owner of El Centro Supermarkets in
  Brownsville; he retired in 1985 and returned to Kerrville; and
         WHEREAS, Involved in many community activities, Joe Hahn
  served as president of the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce and the
  Rotary Club, belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Brownsville for 50
  years, and acted as a deacon in both the First Presbyterian Church
  of Brownsville and the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville;
  during his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering his time to numerous
  organizations, including the Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Conference
  Center, Meals on Wheels, and the Christian Assistance Ministry; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a kind and generous friend
  to many, Joe Hahn will be deeply missed, but his warm personality
  and delightful sense of humor will always be remembered by those who
  were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joe William Hahn and
  offer sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife
  of 57 years, Frances H. Hahn; to his children, Sharon Coufal and her
  husband, Alan, Gary Hahn and his wife, Kathy, and Kathy Watson and
  her husband, Perry; to his grandchildren, Emily Perez del Puerto,
  Brian Coufal, Amanda Hahn, and Jennifer, Paul, and Tara Watson; to
  his great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brennan, Haley, and Paul John
  Watson; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joe Hahn.
