R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Sergeant Ryan
  Patrick Green of Conroe suffered an immeasurable loss with the
  death of this beloved young man on March 18, 2007, at the age of 24;
  and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment,
  2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Sergeant Green died
  from injuries sustained on the battlefield in Baghdad, Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Caney Creek High School, Sergeant
  Green was known for his warm, ever-present smile, his contagious
  enthusiasm, and his devotion to his faith, which he enjoyed sharing
  with fellow members of the Flood Zone youth group at The Ark Family
  Church; as a student, he was active in the Panthers football team
  and choir, where he played an integral role in developing a new
  musical program; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Green was moved to defend his country after
  the events of September 11, 2001; he enlisted soon after earning his
  diploma, and during his time in the military, he served a tour in
  Afghanistan before his deployment to Iraq; notwithstanding the
  hazardous nature of his work, he approached his mission with the
  utmost dedication and professionalism, and his courageous service
  and leadership earned him the Purple Heart; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
  forces, Ryan Green inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity,
  and courage; although his passing leaves a void in the lives of
  those who were fortunate to know him, they will forever carry
  memories of this heroic young Texan close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant
  Ryan Patrick Green and extend deepest sympathy to all those who
  mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of United
  States Army Sergeant Ryan Patrick Green.
