R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Learning Center of El Campo, a behavioral
  disabilities facility of Texana Center, celebrated its opening in
  Wharton County on March 29, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Texana Center is a nonprofit organization providing
  behavioral health care and services for developmentally disabled
  persons in six Texas counties; serving 3,000 clients a month,
  Texana Center has been designated as a Local Mental Retardation
  Authority by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services;
  and
         WHEREAS, Designed to help people with mental retardation or
  pervasive developmental disorders such as autism, the Learning
  Center of El Campo offers vocational and day habilitation training,
  family and individual support, and employment assistance for its
  clients; the Learning Center's services also include the management
  of two group homes; and
         WHEREAS, Situated in downtown El Campo, the Learning Center
  provides invaluable assistance and encouragement to its clients and
  their families, helping citizens with special needs to live full,
  productive, and self-sufficient lives, and it is most fitting that
  the opening of this important community resource be celebrated;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Learning Center of El Campo on
  its opening and extend to the staff and clients of the center best
  wishes for their success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Learning Center of El Campo as an expression of
  high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
